When umpires are under the age of 18, they are not allowed to request or self-assign to a game unless they are about 2 years older than the players. If you do not wish to have this restriction, then either do not enter the birthdate in the birthdate field for an umpire or enter it in the Comments field. (This form is available by going to Umpires > Edit Info next to the name of the umpire.)
